now how aabout hp?

ok nismopik answered my question of a stock z weight. now wat is the hp of a stock zx. and if it varies throughout the years, wat hp for a 79. ( stock) my engine tad says 132 but that seems low seen as how im quicker than a 195 hp bmw

I think we need a sticky called "how many hp does the 280zx have" seeing as how this question gets asked quite often.

the 280zx n/a has 130 - 145 hp, depending on the year & components. As for you "beating" a 195hp BMW... I refer you back to lww's thread about compairing cars by street racing.

well with the beamer, i beat him through 1st 2nd and to the top of 3rd and when we got past 100 mph he took me.

The earlier ZX'x were down there in HP. In 81 it got bumped up a few ponies but still wasn't rated at all that much. Funny you should mention that Nismo, as we speak I'm researching for that exact sticky. I've got most of the years down. Haven't really dove into the 300's yet but I got all the s30 cars, and the s130's. I'm just cross referencing my info to make sure it's all accurate. I'm gonna post it up here as soon as it's finished. And it's more than just HP and torque. It's weights, distribution. gearing, power/weight ratio's and as many acceleration numbers as I can find. The works
