Off topic but soooo funny. 84 supra
Had a young lad come in our toyota service center wensday. He needed a fuel pump for his supra. 300.00 Ok well my Tech found the the lines were compleatly gone. So I just added 70.00 to the tottal after he required "just to be fixed". I called the kid 5 times no call backs. I explained the situation when he came in today. Woa postal! Threw a tantrum in my shop over the added charge. He paid his bill left smokeing the tires in the lot. Well we have a S type drive and the kid lost traction into a 2012 Tundra sticker is 44 k LMAO Took out the front tire of the truck bent the A arm broke the ball joint and bent the tie rod. Kid got bare bones insurance. So the tottal is 29,998.00 will that be check or card?

Now I'm being screamed at since. #1. I had a non happy customer #2. I happened to state I owned a Z to the kid, actually just giggled "you should of bought a Z". #3 I promoted a competitve brand in the shop. Now is there anyother shop guys on here? Was I wrong to add the 70.00? Had 5 cars for warranty work waiting for a bay.

I'm not a lawyer yet (still waiting on exam results), and even if I were a lawyer, I don't know what state you're in, so this might not be valid ... but in most states you'd be in the right replacing the lines and charging for the service if they were in bad shape.

I work at a Toyota dealership as well, and as for most dealerships, you MUST to get permission from the customer to do any service other than the services they requested. Fuel lines, Air filters, batteries, etc.
Now, unless he said "Fix it whatever I don't care what it takes", I would have at least notified him before doing it.
I would say that you shouldn't have added the charge on there, but that's his bad for trying to be a hardass and driving away like an idiot.
That sucks for him about that Tundra though, hope he has fun paying that off.
I bet he got hassled off the Supra forums for being stupid

Yea I know its policy. I like to run my shop as best as I can. The car was on the lift takeing up time I needed to get another wonderful matrix in for struts. The supply line was so dry rotted my tech cracked it off before even takeing the clamps off. So I made the call 4 foot of line to the filter. Took him an hour to undo all the rusted bits. 70 bucks was a steal. Honestly under a 100 I call, but in the end I add it. First time I got a postal idiot. I could of just left it and let the line bust and wait for it to come back. Yea not sure what will happen to the Tundra 7 miles on it. We have had dents and fender benders during test drives that Corp and the insurance delt with. But this truck will never sold at least not as new. I heard the Owner say something about corp donateing it to a local Votech as a write off. Like I told them I wasn't driveing the car. Not my issue! Sad end for a Z cousin.
