Oh fooey, I'm going standalone!
So, for months I'd hunted for, and found, "treasure" in the junkyards, in the form of an '84, an '87, and an '88 300ZX Turbo ECU's for the Z31 ECU/MAF conversion. But the kicker is that I recently ended up changing my mind to go standalone. ^^;;; That's kind of a pisser, but later this month I'm taking my car in for some big mods, and will probably need the standalone to cope. Welp, here's to hoping it all goes off without a hitch..

For my car, I'm going for a whole turbo system renovation: Garrett ball-bearing turbo, intercooler, new downpipe, Walbro fuel pump, Megasquirt (with mods for boost control and knock detection). We'll see if I have enough time/money for RC Engineering to work over my injectors and/or get a rising-rate fuel regulator. I was interested in getting some internal work done, but there won't be enough time if I want the car to be ready for an upcoming road trip.
Heh, how can I afford all this? Well, lack of girlfriend is one factor... But, I'm also happy to say that my daily driver is about to be paid off on its next payment, thus freeing up funds. It'll also be my birthday in a few weeks, so that'll be some gift money there. ^_^

A good aftermarket ECU is really the only way to go if you are after serious power. Assuming you have a dyno man who knows how to set it up.
I've seen significant power increases resulting from just using a good ECU, nothing else. What one are you going to use?
