Oiling problems :D

Ok so tonight after the Foreigner concert i noticed my oil pressure gauge would drop to zero at idle, ping back and forth between 700-2000rpm, and above or at 2000rpm keep pressure...

im checking the oil as soon as i get up in the morning (and prob gonna go get some, its about that time)

you guys think its the sending unit, pump, or just worn out oil?

IMO i think its the sending unit. Ive gone through 2 in less then a year. then I got a 84 Z31 oil pressure sender and haven't had a problem yet.

Just needed an 18mm wrench instead of a 12mm It used the Same Connection and bolts into the same hole w/o modification. A parts store will give you the same part as the 280Z/Xs use so you might need to goto a dealer for the real one. Or a junkyard like I did lol

Yes 84 300ZX N/A I think the 84 is the only year that will work too. I didnt check the miles on the miles on the Z I pulled it from but it still working good. my gauge seems a little more accurate as well. Cant beat $5 for that XD

well i was letting my mom drive my car while hers was in the shop, (she also works at a tire shop) and when they don't have business the mechanics will do the oil changes for cheap for the other employees... just didn't know they were about a quart in a half cheap

i was actually mad when she told me about this because i had no idea what oil they put in (from the viscosity and color i can say it wasn't the best lol) and slapped on a low end napa filter... she was just trying to do something nice but thats my fking car lol
