they look alright to me. I'd wanna see how they look on a Z though. There isn't anyone at your machine shop that can tell what grade of aluminum you can use?

I don't know...they look too narrow from top to bottom. Eh, what do I know...I'm looking through 22 year old stock mirrors!

I was actually toying with the idea of putting a pair of mirrors from a 2000-2004 corvette on my car... I think those are awsome looking mirrors.

Mirrors from a 350Z would look really cool on our cars. I was thinking about that the other night when I was parked next to one.

Those mirrors a real nice. I found some Vitalonis for mine. I think you mean 6061 T-6 aluminum. The originals a cast.

Honestly, the only mirrors I think look good on our cars are the stock mirrors...

I even went to the trouble to get a good pair with 'Electro-Defog' to replace the crappy 'Euro' mirrors that had been put on back in the mid 80's.

The Euro mirrors would vibrate so bad, you were lucky if you could recognize that blob in the mirror as another car or just a dark spot on the road behind you...

Now, I've got a color matched and painted set of 'original' mirrors with original glass and 'Electro-Defog' stenciled on them.

Way cool!

I've only ever seen one aftermarket side mirror that didn't vibrate and it's on my 240z and I have no idea what brand or model it is. Although, I've already purchased NOS chrome mirrors for the 240z as well.

As soon as it goes into the body shop for paint, the holes from the aftermarket mirrors will be welded shut and the original mirrors will be put back on where they belong!

Right on Lww, I agree the stock mirrors are all around the best for our cars! And there isn't too many stock mirrors I like. But the Z mirrors I do, that is a fact. I have had no problems with mine on both of my ZX's. And they look great considering how old they are. They just never go out of style in my book!

I would agree gents. The stock ones do it with STYLE for me too.

As well I wouldn't want to part with the power mirror feature either, who knows how well another pair would work with the stock wiring etc...

Hey lww the 280zx pic on your posts..is it the same car you are building now or another one you own? Looks great except the mirrors look non-stock

The one in my sig on the left is my 'sudo' daily driver and the one on the right is the one currently getting mad paint and body work.

And yes, you are correct, those are not the stock mirrors. Those are the crappy 'Euro' mirrors that I hate! I'll take studio photos of the car when it's finished with the new STOCK 'Electro-Defog' mirrors!

If anyone wants to see it before then, it'll be at Thunderhill on July 15th for it's track debut and Mt. Shasta July 16th, 17th and 18th for the All Datsun Meet.

I'll have in-car footage of me flying down the front straight hopefully getting up to 130mph + before turn 1...

The 210mph speedo isn't finished yet, so I probably won't push it much beyond 130... I like to know how fast I'm going!
