Picked up the ZXR this weekend
Well, I finally picked her up. Here's some pics. 1st thing to do is get her running. Besides replacing all the fluids and hand cranking the motor to check nothing is ziesed up, is there anything else you guys would recommend doing before starting her up. Thanks.

My advise .. dump the front airdam as it is not stock... make it slicktop, loose the steeringwheel put in a OEM radio... You want these stock!!!
Funny im the second owner on my car

That dash is looking sweet for it's age are there any cracks. Nice car I leave the sun roof until you decide to do a full scale restoration. I think otherwise the boy's will never let ya here the end of it. My friend put a sunroof in his 1969 Mach one no wait he said the po installed it, I told him I thought it was beat. The car has since been stolen so maybe the sunroof Will help recover it (but I doubt it).

I can understand how most would think it sacrilegious to restore such a rare car to anything other than stock, but I've been wanting to mod this car back since I first bought it in 79. Steering wheel, sunroof, air dam where all done by me back then. Also had some AR Libre on the car when I had it. Next in line were performance and suspension mods but marriage and family kinda put everything on hold. Besides the wing and the stipes, is there anything else that identifies the car as a ZXR, i.e. vin number?

Man... if I got my hands on a ZXR... the shell would be restored perfect, but I'd be dropping in a HIGHLY modified L28ET.

id do what NismoPick said. id restore the body and interior to all origional and just do a turbo swap.. there werent that many of those cars made and the only thing that says its a ZXR is its exterior... if you want to mod a ZX id say pick up a turbo 280ZX its just so hard to find a good ZXR like the on you have...

I disagree. I think a set of ghost ZXR decals looks pretty sick based on what you have there. Just gotta make sure the ZXR ghosting colors compliment the rest of the car.
On a side note, you have some pretty damn good photo editing skills there, Ice.

yeah it didnt come out too bad.. but if i were to actually do it.. i wouldnt get decals but have them painted on.. then clear coated over... instead of the blue id go with a darker charcole gray with a black pin strip and the rest of the car silver... the black would match the black rubber ZXR wing.. it might actually look pretty sick.. you might also wanna concider doing the turbo swap too... make it better than the origional ZXR...
by they way it is the MSA AERO KIT II
