THEY HAVE THE SAME i like the gearing in thoughs years ..its really not the HP that makes a diff..... its the grearing ....old blue would pull soooooo hard off the start that it was hard to drive her in the rain .this is a unmodded 79zx...this car the 1981 feels a little diff, slower off the start and more pull in the top end ..... i think when factory tested these cars after the 79 to 80 model years were done... They seen that they were unsafe in the rain ....so when they redid them 81 to 83 they toned the gearing down a little bit and brought the HP up some ....i dont know just my take on it..... i can wait to feel the 5 speed pull again.......

I am highly supprised my parents are leting me get a Z car. My mom would not even let me sit behind the wheel on her old car before it was stolen. It was a IROC Z28 with a boared out 351 Cleavelend. I still wish she had that car. I am not a camaro fan. but it would run.

Are you sure it wasn't a 351 Windsor?

Ok! I'm kidding! There was never a 351 Cleveland OR Windsor in the Z28!

The 351 is FORD motor and would never have been installed in a Chevrolet Camaro...

It was most likely a 305 or a rare limited run of the 5.7 liter 350ci Z28's. If it was the 5.7, you would have known as they came with a hefty price premium.

Chevy never used a 'Cleveland' product. Did your mom buy it new or used?

Someone might have just dropped a name plate onto it.

You shouldn't read the last page first!

This has already been covered on page 1...

There's a good chance some one droped a name plate on it. She bought it from some mexican's. It had been droped down, body kit, and new interior on it. The motor was not stock. She sent it to the local (60 miles from here) Motor performice shop and had it completly rebuilt. That cost a pretty penny. Put some new rims and rapped it on Toyo's. Half year later some Mexican's stole it. but did not have enough proof for the doughnut lovin overweght cops round here. Bad Cop, No Doughnut!!!
