Problem with my cold start valve

Ive been working on my problems. I have come to find out that my fuel pump is pumping and my injectors are getting power. However my cold start is not. Does this mean that my Thermotime switch is bad? When I can get it started with carb cleaner and then it will continue to run. It runs badly. back fires through the intake. Seems to idle ok just when i accelerate it falls on its face. I then adjusted the mass air meter like I was told and it still does it. Any Ideas?

Yank the cold start valve & clean it. It's probably covered in carbon.

Sounds like your thermotime switch then.

Thats what i was thinking. You gave me a link to a web site with lots of manuals. One of them linked the thermotime switch and cold start valve together. How can I get a new fuel injection wiring harness? All the connections are very brittle and most do not have the wire that locks it on.
