If your car is an N/A, have then chop off that stupid crossover pipe under the rear bumper and run it straight through. I don't know what the engineers were thinking when they designed it, but it's useless.

The shop that installed mine also put a 4" piece of 45* bend on the end so the exhaust would go under the bumper.

Maybe I can get a pic for you later.

I actually got it installed yesterday at a local muffler shop.

They just connected it to the preexisting pipework, no need to go straight out.

It sounds nice, and was cheap, thanks for the suggestion.

Oh and ever since I got it installed, I've noticed a substantial drop in engine temperature. It used to run at with the needle right in the middle (1/2) of the temp gauge, and now, it will not go past 1/4. (This is driving it hard in the AZ heat too)

a muffler will not make the car run hotter or colder, a muffler is just that a device put in the muffle the sound of the engine, i suspesct either your temp sender is going out. (also why are you trusting the stock temp sender?)

Just came across some "glass pack" info while reading this article: http://zhome.com/rnt/L28conversion/head.html

Very bottom of the page:

BTW, I've heard you should not use the Cherry Bomb brand of glasspacks due to poor flow. I checked them out and I agree. On a 2 1/2" model the inner diameter necks down to what looks like 1 1/4". Talk about a poor design. I currently use a Motorsport Auto 6-2, header, Dynomax glasspack, and a Monza single tip. Looks great, sound's incredible and pulls like a Tomahawk from idle. A muted rumble at low speeds, opening it up creates a brilliantly evil snarl that's not raspy or motorboat-like. The combination of cam, header and high-output ignition makes me want to keeping blasting it constantly. No tickets yet, I back off when I see the Bronze.
For future reference... don't get "Cherry Bomb" glass packs.

I was never a very big glass pack fan. They sound moderate, but they do sound good on the L24-L28. But, they are restrictive, and burn out. My Flowmaster is not going to burn out, and it's flow is world known. It's all a matter of opinion though.

One nice thing about the Glasspack style, is that they are easy to fit in many applications.

I literally removed the exhaust from after the cat all the way to the bumper on my 1979 N/A...so it goes manifold-pipe-cat! Sounds great!! I think they should have just come with the cat, it really does muffle the sound just fine but sounds sporty as well, and best of all no popping or backfire sounds just sweet smoothnessessses.
