quick question?
Hey,
As some of you know i have my 280zx for sale... but i know the engine is still good. So is there any other car other then a maxima that has taken the L28 motor on? I just saw an article that showed an L28 turbo in an old school maxima.
I just need a shell to drop this in that way i will have a car again. I will be over hauling the engine if i can make this fit (project started once again?).
Let me know your thoughts guys. (god i'm glad there is this forum

I've seen them in 510's and Pete Allnet is putting one in a 240sx.
They obviously didn't come stock with these motors so some fabrication is necessary.
The only other car that came with the L6 from the factory that I'm aware of is the Maxima.

None of the trucks had an inline six.
The KA24e is actually a very torquey engine in my opinion. Its the old Z22 and Z24 engines that suck.
The 1981-84 Maxima had the L24. (also 1977-80 Datsun 810) Same basic engine but smaller displacement. Also, they are a front sump oil pan due to a different steering system.

I have owned a whole lot of Nissan trucks over the years. I thought the NAPZ24 motor was great. The dual spark plug design definitely gave it more "zip". It was a quick little sucker. Now the KA24 in my later trucks was also a great motor... more torquey than the NAPZ but not as zippy. The KA24 also did much better on hills than the NAPZ. I thought they were both great though. There's a guy locally with a KA24 truck motor (A built one anyway) in his 510 track car and that thing is INSANE! I've also seen one stuffed into an old Datsun 2000 roadster, that car was also scary fast......................Rod.
