wow. thats awsome. you learn a little bit about datsun history all the time.
now, not that this is anywhere near as cool, but when i was at the MSA nationals this past april, i met one of the lucky owners of a mint tenth anniversary 280zx and he gave me one of the orginal buisness cards from the datsun dealership in san diego california which his z came from.

OK, so....
My 1980 280ZX non-turbo has that paint, but the code is 885 G. I didn't think the paint was anything special - is it because that one is an '81 Turbo that it is?
Where can I look up those paint codes at?
[Edit: I should note that my car is *NOT* in that good shape, and is in need of a rebuild on the motor... ]

I'll try to attach some pictures here... as I said, it does NOT look as good as that '81 Turbo. I just picked it up a few weeks ago, and have gotten as far as finding out that something inside the motor is likely broken. I can rotate the engine by hand about 45 degrees or so, but no further. With the valve cover off, I can hear something inside clunk around the #1 cylinder, and it stops turning, in both directions. Seems as if there is a broken rod or something jamming it. I suspect I'll have to pull the motor to see what is what.
Any thoughts on the relative merits of purchasing a rebuilt from zcarparts.com vs. rebuilding this myself? The last motor I rebuilt was almost 20 years ago, a 1974 Trans Am, and, honestly, I am not sure that I want to invest the time in rebuilding it instead of just buying one that is already rebuilt.

The Bluestreak TOY was all silver. In the cartoon he appeared as he was supposed to appear: with a silver hood and blue paint scheme on the sides.
You are correct on Prowl and Smokescreen. Smokescreen has the ZXR spoiler!

Hey Bleach; I have the DVD cartoons. Bluestreak is silver with a black hood. I made a mistake before saying the ZX, (the rare one) was like the one in the cartoons. And is that Bluestreak yours? And is it sealed? Worth some bucks if it is, and I have the Japanese original Diaclone blue and silver Bluestreak. I had a hard time getting it!
