Is the system holding pressure? Does it drop quick? Have you checked the pressure?

When its fully pressurized its at the right PSI (cant remember off the top of my head) but it dropped the pressure almost as fast as I turn the car off. Well not that fast but it doesnt take more then a few min to loose all its pressure.

Hmm still dunno about the fuel issue. I need t pull the check valve and make sure its ok.

But for now does anyone know where I can get the speedometer gear that goes in the late 280ZX trans? I need the white one for an R200 with 3:90 gears. I right now have the 3:70 R200 one in there and its making my gauge read to fast.

19 tooth for the 3.9: Looks like NOS replacement... thus the "black" color.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsu...Q5fAccessories

Stock speedo cogs:

YELLOW is the 16 tooth for the 3.36
BLACK is the 17 tooth for the 3.54
BLUE is the 18 tooth for the 3.70
WHITE is the 19 tooth for the 3.90
RED is the 20 tooth for the 4.11
PURPLE is the 21 tooth for the 4.38

Indeed... I did a bunch of junk yard searches for 280zx's here in Utah... not a single 280zx locally right now. I would give you mine if I had a spare.

ok I'll keep an eye out at the junkyards.

Anyways I'm finding rust in the hatch area under that tar stuff. I know its been discussed before but idk what to search for lol. So whats the best way to get it off? I'm leaning to the angle grinder with a wire wheel myself. bu I also have a 10lb brick of dry ice left over I need to use up.

well, someone told me to search for a dry ice trick, but i couldn't find it. So, I recommend a propane torch, torch it until you see it turn a flat black color instead of a bubbly black color, then scrape it off. Don't do too much at once or you'll have to re-torch it, and after too many it gets REALLY hard instead of REALLY gooey.

Nice I didn't know that was here.

Does anyone know where I can get an aluminum radiator that doesn't cost an arm and a leg for a 280ZX? I cant find them for 240Z-280Z but nothing for the ZX. And I remember reading somewhere that a Camaros radiator will fit in a Z but I forgot what one and what Z

I found aluminum radiators for the 280zx on ebay. There are tons of them on there, and for good prices. Check them out, or better yet. Here is a link.

There that should give you a start.

I never trusted ebay but I guess I'll give it a shot. my 280ZX is liking to climb to 3/4s again right as I stop moving. and its annoying.

^ The big thing with ebay. Is look at the seller's feedback rating. If it is really high, and they have a good reputation. You should be quite safe. It is all mainly on good judgment, and careful thinking. Good luck man. Anyway I got the timing chain back on. As said in my thread. I still am not sure, if I put the tensioner on right. It seems to look like, it is in the right place. I just want to be sure.
