Rust is eating my roof alive HELP!
I have rust coming up my roof from the top of the windshield area. i spoke with a paint and body guy today and he told me that you could sand it back and treat it and fill it and it would last a little while, but the best thing to do was to cut out the part right above the windshield and replace it, one of two ways. One would be to fabricate a piece in there, which would be expensive or second find a panel if they make one for that roof line and weld it in. The second option would save me on labor of fabricating a part and would be quicker. I went on line to like Black Dragon and Z Source but can not find panels for this particular area. I know a lot of you have had this problem before, so i need some advice on the best way to do this on a budget. Any suggestions on a panel for the roof area right above the windshield?

Try a Nissan dealership for the panel. But I've seen people grind away the rust then just braze over the pin holes and metal to fill it in. Its stronger then bondo filling and should last if painted once your done.

i wouldnt imagine its bad enough to warrant cutting holes in your roof, i havent seen any that bad.
mines devloping some above the trim at the top and bottom of the windsheild on the passenger side (and only the passenger side for some reason) and its comming from water getting to the metal where the chrome ctrip have rubbed off the paint, i imagine you could scrub it all off, treat or por 15 it, self etching primer it and then paint it like any other
