Base price from SDS is about $1k: http://www.sdsefi.com/specific.html

SC/L had an SDS setup at one point in time... dunno if he still has it, would sell it, or if you could ever get a hold of him to ask...

They come up on ebay once in a while... I'll be on the lookout.

Besides megasquirt, for under a grand it's either a used SDS setup or used electromotive setup. Get a SDS then plug and play

The S does stand for simple .

As far as full stand alone systems go, I think it's one of the easiest to install and tune.

Yeah it is crazy simple. No laptop required everything is tuned right there in the car. I Still have mine but its going in something. hehe. When you order you tell them what injectors your running and they load a map in there it will start right up. The only part I didnt like was installing magnents on the crank though its not hard at all.

My planes are just sick. But there mostly cosmetic things. Only performince gain is N42 head on F54 block with flattop pistions and my ported intake with 240sx t\b. And I might bump her up to stage 2 cam. If I can't get a ecu. Then it will go to my 83. I guy wants to sell me a bored over, camed, carbed up, headers, 350 and 4 speed man trans. It might go for the 76 if no ecu is found.

What??? If you are going to do a motor / tranny swap from a 300xz turbo, to a 71 510 Datsun... what would you use, Nissan ecu and wires from the 300xz, or SDS??? Correct me if I'm wrong... but a SDS if a after market ecu and wiring?!?!

I just seen this SDS and thought it would be a great way to help with the swap... maybe less problems???...

Ok. Lets try to clear things up. My 76 is a 280z. I am keeping the inline gas engine. The oem wireharness is shot. And I dought the ecu still works. So I want sds so I can get her runnin again, and with sds. I have more tuning options over stock. No z31 ecu or wire swaps. No 510 swaps. I did metion a chevy 350 swap. But that's last option. I wil go webers on the L28e before that.

ohhhhh... i get it, he wants to know incase he actually gets HIS Z31 motor into HIS 510 what would be best for engine management. and yes, id have to say standalone is the only way to go. which one though is your choice, since SDS has so far proven to me to be much simpler but more expensive that quite a few other standalones out there, then i'd say yes. but be a bit more clear lol.

Just so you know, it's highly unlikely the ECU is dead. Unless it's the victim of fire or water damage, they over built these things in ways you can't imagine unless you were in the computer industry back in the 70's!
