Smile Share the love

OK, I know I'm not so much a reg on here but i cant help it, wife and kid and job and what not, but today i finally got the chance to post something. I am an anthropologist, and as such, im very interested in people's opinions and points of view, we call it qualitative analysis. So here's what I'm looking for. What do you love about your Z or Zs in general. Ill start!

I love the lines!. i mean yeah, its an 80 ZX 2+2, so i might not get the props the 240/260/280 and 280Zx non 2+2 guys get, but for $450 i couldn't go wrong.
I also love that its a Z. Every once in a while I'll happen upon some people talking cars and when i drop the Z bomb on them they get all wide eyed and awe struck. So no matter what Z you have...its still a Z. So for all those guys talking smack about 240>260>280>280zx...give it a rest..WE are Z Drivers and if its not a Z its crap!

So tell me why you like your Z..who knows..it may be in my Z book someday.

I love how these old *** cars are overenginerd. I love that after 400K miles she still runs. I love how I can burn a gal of oil a week and she still cranks and runs like a champ. I love how I can blow ehxaust valves and drive on 5 cylinders for a week, slap another old valve in. And drive away. I love how the old car can hitch up to a truck in a dittch and yank it's *** out. I love how after her hard *** raged out life. The bitch just won't die. Can I get a amen.

I like my z cuz shes simple, shes fast, and she only has what she needs. no more, no less. And she reminds me of old school muscle cars. (and easier to understand than women.)

the Z32 has my 2nd favorite body style of any car i've ever seen. i like that it still looks better then any new cars coming out IMHO. and it is certainly one of the fastest cars i could get for the price. also, this car challenges me when something goes wrong. i really have to research and i never fix something on the first try. well, rarely at least.

Dude, I plan on being either an Anthropologist or a Psychologist!

But for me, I really can't explain it with words. I mean, every time I see a Z no matter what the condition I feel like the car is demanding my respect. The Z is a legendary affordable sportscar that just refuses to die. Whether it be mechanically or as a competitor for Nissan. No matter what condition a Z is in, especially the old ones. They still get looks, I don't think I'll ever get over these cars and move onto another type of car.

Refuse to die is definitely something I'm familiar with. I think I've gone through just about every single problem with the fuel injection system on these cars, and even when running like crap, clogged/leaking injectors, dieing ignition, etc. The Z has never refused to start up on me and drive me to where I need to go. The only time I couldn't drive the car was the other night, when I found out, that I wasn't giving the car enough air. Even then with the well below freezing temperatures the car will usually fire up on half-to-one crank.

I personally like that all model Z's have been proven winners on the track as well as the street. I mean I've never seen a civic win championships on the track.

Are they really Civics or are they a tube frame with a race prepped (non-civic) engine, FWD, with a fiberglass shell that somewhat resembles a Civic?

Meh... I haven't really cared to find out. There's 3 local mod shops here that only do honduh... just stupid. There's an 11sec / 12sec 1/4mi race in this vid of mine:
