Side AC/Heater Vents replacement question
The inner moving flaps on my top set of vents on the sides of my dash are completly disinigrated from the sun. My bottoms are in good shape. I looked at a car in the junk yard today that had the same problem so I broke the side dash covers open and took the bottom two vents that were in good shape. I should have looked to see if I could figure out how the side covers come apart properly but was in a hurry and got them out quickly instead of smartly. Now I want to put them in place of my crapy top vent but dont know how to get them in there with out breaking the side dash vent covers.
Has anyone done this? Any advise or how to?
Thanks Guys

I can tell you that they are not fun. You have to be extremely careful, because the plastic is brittle from heat. I think on the passenger side, you can get to them from the glovebox. (Hopefully you know how to remove the glovebox) Anyway, there will be 3 nuts, if I remember right. That are 8mm, or something close to that. And use a small 1/4 inch ratchet. And gently loosen those, and play around with the unit. Until you get it freed from where it is mounted. Then the driver side one, do the same thing after you remove the instrument cluster. After you have them out, you should be able to get the vents out, then replace them with the good ones.
Hope that helps, and good luck man.
