I believe HIDs pull less amperage than 55w sealed beams.

You can go with the stock alt and then switch out your running lights and dash lights to LED bulbs. That will net you more amps.

In case I didn't mention it before (which I did)...

GM 1-wire

If you are going to spend $70 on a 55/60amp alternator, why not spend $70 on a 80/100amp alternator?

I run the brightist lights i could get for my car. along with two 55W fog lights, stock dashlights, heater, and my sound system and it does not drop under 14V as long as it's about 1K rpm or above. of course i have a 2 gauge wire from alt-80amp resetable CB-to battery. the other possy is a 8 gauge also strait to the battery, then the ground to the body. then the lil wire for the red charging light in the dash in there somwhere can't remember. but also a 60amp Alt. powers everything great.
sound system- 300W bridged for 600. 1500K Compacitor, 650W sub. and the headunit powering the 6x9's. also the heater is wired directly to the battery with a switch. so it blows extra hard.

1500k compacitor? You mean capacitor by any chance? How many farads? For what your running you wouldn't need more than two farads.
