speedo question - Junkyard run (guidance needed)
Ok so my speedo took a dump on me, the assy locked up and is physically broken. My question is on my trip to the junkyard this sat, is there going to be any problems with pulling one out of another car and putting it in mine.
My car = 82 N/A coupe automatic
All the donors there are N/A but some are auto and some are 5spd
Any diff in the speedo gauges (besides the mileage LOL)
I am also getting a set of T-tops and another (less worn) center armrest, a couple of map lights (300zx maplights for a couple of my cars :-)
Also are there any other parts I need to grab while I am there. Its an all you can carry for $40 and I dont want to miss out.
Thanks for the help ahead of time
Dennis

Just grab the whole guage cluster as one piece... You don't want to mess with only removing the speedo at the junkyard and trying to get it home without the needle breaking off on ya...
Always look for little things like the windshield wiper nut covers and things like that. It's the little trim pieces that are hard to come by and easily overlooked.

Well I am taking my duffel bag (mil issue) and that is one huge backpack, plus whatever I can carry, and if you are looking for a motor... its also encouraged to bring a friend and pay double grab a hood and load it up. I guess three people could carry a motor and pay $120 (40 each). Whatever you might have to look for a distruibitor after this weekend tho :-)

Ecology auto wrecking here has "Rainy day specials" where if it rains, everything is half off. Nothing like slodging around in the mud yankin' parts off of junkers . I actually carry a list in my wallet now of stuff I need to look for, because I always forget something... Like the dome light lens I still need to replace because the bulb actually burnt a whole in mine, or the rear windshield wiper nut cover, or the passenger side door handle escutcheon that is cracked... I'm tellin' ya', It's the little stuff...

Man our junk yards suck, no rainy day special or all you can carry specials. 1 more reason to hate Los Vegas. This town sucks. But I am so use to it I can't live anywhere else. I'd like to live in SoCal but the emissions are out of control, the no smoking thing and what is up with the bars closing. Sometimes I don't even go out till after midnight, some of my friends work till midnight. So if I moved I'd be a smog legal, non smoking and non drinking man. And what is the fun in that??
