you are in socal----there are the santanas to consider--very dry winds/conditions that come from the desert straight to us-----keep a moist towel in yer car to wipe yer hands on when you want to do anything----
this is the time to gel and spike the hair--it stands straight up, anyway.......
santanas are the wind conditions the uneducated and ignorant media personae call santa ana--of which there is no such thing............
even my kiten does not like to jump every time i touch him..........

LOL, Rod! Yeppers, Nismo is the Master of the Linky! TY, Nismo!
Hmm, I was just wondering ... do any of you guys use fabric softener or dryer sheets when doing your laundry? I've NEVER had a problem with static electricity in any of my Z's since I've owned them, nor any other car, and I'm currently 40 years old ... and I didn't start using Downey until 3 years ago (hate those dryer sheets, cuz they get lost inside my clothes, towels, bed sheets, etc. - LOL).
Why are you guys carrying static electricity? That's what I'm trying to figure out. If it was an electrical problem within your Z, the shock would be more of a zilching buzz - is it that, or just a static electricity kinda spark?

barbie--here in socal we experience a phenomenon called santana (wind)/condition--we have an east to west/north-south/ wind situation wherein dry desert air is blown over, thru, around and all over us--complete with close to zero humidity and all kinds of static electricity. this year we are having more than usual. there is more pollen from the desert that is harmful than there is in the city---most of the time there is little wind, per se, with these conditions, however, the wind can get going upwards of 50mph----------these winds have been happening in this area longer than recorded history--santanas are commonly mispronounced santa anas------
