Sticky parking brake?

Ya, almost always the cable. Although I looked at it and it seams to be sealed enough that WD-40 sprayed on the end doesn't do much. I'm looking at replacing mine. For now I disconnected one side that was locking up.

Had this problem on my car and it was the cable. The cable was between $40-$50. I replaced it in about an hour and a half. Could have done it in about a half an hour if I had a lift. Here is my post for my problem https://www.zdriver.com/showthread.php?t=9178 Check it out.

cool, thanks a lot for the input. Fortunately, the sticky parking brake worked out for the better. For some reason, my rear brakes had a persistant squeal every time that I would come to a stop. I "fixed" my problem by setting the brake while I went into the bank for a few minutes... Just long enough for it to get really stuck. As I drove off, the brakes howled and squealed for about 5 minutes. It was absolute agony! Then, all of a sudden the noise subsided. No more squeaky brakes, thanks to my crappy parking brake cable! I guess that the extra pressure helped the new pads seat in. Guess I'll look into replacing the cable now.
