I'm not in the bay area, but I'm 17 and have an '81 280ZX 2+2. I think Utah is close enough anyway . Now, if when I graduate I move to Okinawa, THEN I can say I live in the bay area!

Does is really have to be about age, and not just love of the line of cars?? I mean, I'm 42 years old, so if I showed up at one of your meets (younger people), would you ignore me or give me the boot just cause I'm older?? I don't think that people that enjoy these cars should be split into catagories. That's what these forums are made of: People of ALL ages that enjoy the Z car....

hi Darrell.

lol when you ask my littel girl how old i am she dosent tell you her daddy is 33, she'll tell you im 5
yeas old just like her. becues that what my wife says i act like.

Carl's Z: i think that when Darrell started this thred was to meet some peers of his own age. not to insalt any one that was older then 20 or so.i know Darrell and if he meet you he would welcom you, not push you away.and unfortantly this form dose put us in catagories.it just so happens some of us spill over into all of the catagories.

I like to think I'm old enough to know better but still young enough not to care...

I too am a child of the '80s. Motley Crew, Ozzy, Ronnie James Dio, Night Ranger and Journey are my generations gift to history!

When I was 20 I used to think I will have completely outlived my usefullness by age 30.

I turned 30 and thought I had avoided it.

I turned 35 and realized when I was 20 I was right!

Yeah I've gotten that a lot too. I started with cars when I was 14 with a '69 Dodge Superbee that I paid $600 for and I really heard a lot of crap from older guys once I started driving. I have noticed that the reception has been a bit warmer from the Z crowd than the muscle car guys though.

This thread is making me feel old, I turn 22 in 2 months and I still can't grasp that one. Where does the time go?

When I started with aircraft I was about 10 I've heard more crap than I care to remember and I'm still getting it now that I'm in college to get my licence! My first engine rebuild was two years ago and no one thought I could, and no one still believes that I did it! I dont think you get automatic respect from anyone till your older than them, and specialize in their area. so basically, your screwed.

Im in a Z Club with all older guys. The next youngest is probably 10 years older than me. They have always been welcoming and understanding. Actually, I have become pretty close friends with some of them.

Carl . . .

Those Z commercials are awesome! I have to say the turbo is my favorite, the one with the airplane. great representation of the times.

Yeah they were great! I'd have to say that they were kinda "Knight Rider'esque" which is kinda cool.
