--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hi guy's ... I'am having a problem with my throttle sticking. its happens @ about 3/4 throttle, I have to pop the gas peddle to get it released. has any one had this experance with their throttle linkage..... is this commom & whats the fix?? I've sprayed the linkage under the hood with wd40 but I can still feel a catch in it when I do it by hand. Start exploring. Just follow the linkage all the way from the pedal to the throttle body...

also look for tight spots in the cable. bends i mean. it should be as tight as possible, because the tight bends are almost always where a kink happens

The 280zx's don't have a throttle cable... they have a throttle linkage (bars).

Nismo is correct. Most likely, something has gotten into the "ball connector" at the TB or the firewall or a bushing has broken down somewhere along the line. Check the pedal assembly "pivot" under the dash as well.

And don't use WD40, it's water based. Use Liquid Wrench or some other oil based lubricant.

yup i use a grease though, stays better than liquid crap, pop all the ball joints clean them, then grease them. also any rotating parts like where its hel to the fire wall, where its held to the intake manifold, grease it all. also there is a spring that im sure can get worn out on the throttle body itself i believe.

thanks I'll try all those things............

edit the linkage fells a little griddy but I did find my gas peddle has been hitting my floor mat. might have to get thinner ones or cut some off the peddle..........
