Tire Issues

Anyone ever use a fender mender tool before? Suppose to stop tire rubbing but don't want to spend the money unless I feel confident it work.

they work but mostly do chip the paint so you would need to refinish the fenders or do it before paint .

Honestly, they're a waste of money. You can accomplish the same thing with a piece of PVC or a wooden bat or dowel wrapped in towels or some other soft material. The thing they don't include is the heat gun. You should use a good high power heat gun as well. This will minimize the potential cracking of the paint while the fender is rolled.

A friend of mine that did his actually used a razor blade to pre-score the edge to make sure the paint only cracked along that inconspicuous line requiring a minimum of touch-up. You have to have a very sharp razor blade and a very steady hand though.

If you google "fender rolling" you'll get hundreds of DIY how-to's from a boat load of auto forums.

Good luck!
