Tires

Because of my bad front suspension, my front tires are just done. I'm running the stock 6-spokes (14x7-ish) and the selection for that wheel really sucks. I have a set of Kumho Solus (205-70-R14) on there right now, but I'd like a nicer, grippier tire. Not really anything to choose from in that size.

If I find a set of "swastika" wheels, the choices get much better. ...but I LOVE my 6-spokes!

Any recommendations for 14"?

Oh dam forgot to say if you like going way sideways like dukes of hazzard stay with the 14's mine has aftermarket 15's and yea helps a lot with speed turns but It lost huge mojo with the power slides and grips a lot more so no more easy drifts

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I pissed my pants. I have the swastika on my Turbo and I'm thinking of either restoring them like chrome or powdercoat or polished them up or look for the iron cross, switch them out and do the same (chrome, etc). I love the iron cross wheels.

235-60-R14 if you can find them. I had them on my '82 T-top until I changed to the 15" Swatzis.

I know what gives?? All pre 90 cars wore 14s. . . . . . So did the camero's "60s and 70s" what are we to do lol. . . . . Do feel bad for the cars with 13s kinda liked the festiva. . . . 40 + mpg and was a lil fun to drive. . . . But 0ur 86 corvette were starting to have to order and wait 3-5 days for tires never had that problem before. . . . And that's at "NTB" hopefully they will at least keep the sizes for retro cars like the wide oval series that just came out. . . . . .or obama really wants to park them for good??? Lol he did win the war on the ford explorer. . . "Cash for clunkers" now its the race for tread classic car prices based on tire tread lol

Falken ZE912 in 195/65-14. Shorter tire gives better acceleration (looks better, too) and 912 is plennty sticky for a stock ZX. (Pretty cheap, too)

Running 195/50-15 Dunlop DZ101s on my car and they're the best ever.

The 205/50/15 will probably never go away and there are really good street and DOT-R tires in that size. Why? Think Spec Miata. Largest/most popular spec series EVAR in the history of racing!

And it fits most Honda Civic's too...

13", 14", 16" are going to disappear as far as performance tires are concerned but there will always be "utility" all-season tires in these sizes with 400+ tread-wear so at least they'll be drivable.

If you want something with performance in mind you'll have to go to 15's. The next step up is 17's and you don't want to go there if for no other reason than weight!

The 14" 6-spoke aluminum wheels from the '82-'83 NA were the lightest wheels I've ever seen as an OEM at 11.5 #'s each. I wish I could get them in a 15x8" or bigger...
