And he just had to show a 260 he responded to way back in 77 steering wheel broke. Lodged the column in the drivers chest deceased. . . . Car failed to round a bend 65 70 well hit a pole drivers side car folded up and the transmission decapped the passengers head. So with fric your playing with fire. From what he said was the force of the impact drove the steering box up . . . . Then haveing the small 3 spoke steering wheel it broke where it attached to the hub "horn pad". Pics were nasty basicly turned the front clip 90 degrees to the body and took the engine down tranny up and back ?? 3 feet the other guy took the tranny to the face. He was the back up officer they measured the skids and got 65 to 70 mph. So of course when 8 drove it down to show her off out came the book! So ill post what I have under my front end see if they have any objections to what I'm running. . . . . . Then maybe we can solve the issue than quick fixs. . . .

UPDATE:

Everything is doing just fine. Took it in for the scheduled (500-ish mile) check because of the bushings. Nothing is over flexing, two nuts were a tad loose (re-tightened to spec). I was under the car when this took place. My mechanic was a bit nervous about what he would see, but was amazed how solid everything is. He also gave me guidelines for weekly check-ups I can do (Check all nuts and bolts for looseness).

As bad as my front end was, it is now damn near all brand new (with a little stiffness added), along with a new steering rack. I couldn't be happier with the results, and I don't mind doing the check-up on my day off... I'm usually out under it anyway putzing around and tweaking little things.
