a plastic piece sets on the nipple and holds the lead in place that runs from the coil to the distributor.

I thought all of them had it. Yours may have been removed by a previous owner.

no mine NEVER had anything on the j-pipe... and it's the big 1/2" pipe nipple in the middle that has a hose on it and goes to 3 others. i am only the 3rd owner and i know the last 2 so for sure NO.

This??? (see yellow arrow)

It's for the air regulator / AAC. If you don't have it, you've prolly got idle probs.

lol figured that! thanks i try to keep it super clean... thats why the tb swap the greddy pop-off valve... the turbo timer. the extra gauges. i just like to add to the already ZWEETNESS that is the ZXT!! so if i get rid of the AAC setup with the Z31 ecu i can remove all that?

It's all been covered in the Z31T ecu upgrade threads. And you can't get rid of all of those hoses because you still need the j-pipe to connect to the air regulator.

You can remove the AAC (might have idle probs after) but that 4 way (really a 5 way) hose splitter connects the J-pipe to air regulator, so you'll need to keep a line between them.

AAC = Auxiliary Air Control. It controls idle.

If you remove all of that, at least leave the air regulator and just run hose from the J-pipe to the air regulator.
