turbo swap done. need help with temp gauge

i finished my turbo swap on my 79 and everything is running good and all. But my problem is, my temp guage in my gauge cluster dosent not work. Im not sure if maybe something is wired wrong or what. i did not remove anything from the dash, and the only wiring i did under the dash was the wire to do the swap.

My question is, is there something that i was suppose to wire in order for the my temp guage to work? And which sensor is it, that wires to the actual gauge in th e cluster. Is it the cylnder temp sensor on the head? or is it the sensor on the thermostat housing?

THANX FOR THE SUPPORT GUYS!

Temp sensor is located on the front of the thermostat housing. It has a male stub connector on the front, and if I remember correctly, the wire is yellow. There is also a thermotime switch for the injector fan... I believe it is below the temp sensor.

check my thread, I think I went over this.

The turbo has its own sensor wire for that sender unit and that signal goes to the ECU only. You'll have to find the section of NON turbo wires over the coil... hopefully you didn't competely remove those. One of those used to go to the thermostat for the temp sensor.

I wired up both plugs to fit on the one end so my NA gauges temp works and the ECU gets it signal; everyone is happy

With the N/A I would always ground the wire to the thermostat, key on, the gauge goes up...good gauge. Clean and reinstall. At least you know if your gauge works.

I would totally do that on my page. I was going to have a section specific to 280ZX mods, gallery, ect. I'm lazy though and don't work on my site much.

okay its all good to go now!

it was infact the yellow wire located in the harness with the coil wires.

my guage works fine and my car runs a little bit hot, but its okay ill get to that.
