Vaccum advance timing

alright tell me if any of this sounds normal.

alright the vaccum for the advance comes from under the throttle body, it comes out, goes through a small round vaccum reducer thingy, goes into a T adaptor and the left side goes to the advance the the right side goes to the carbon canister.

it doesent sound right at all to me, there isnt hardly any measurable vaccum comming out of it before the T and after the reducer

i would think yea it would pull it from the throttle body and go directly to the advance on its own line with out a reducer and the carbon canister would have its own line.

mabe its not the carbon canister but its the thing behind the passenger head light thats a small black barrel
and before i forget should the vaccum module thingy on the distributer beable to hold a vaccum?
i hook a pump to it and it just all leaks down and i wasnt sure if that was normal or not
