What color will it be? (Poll - Vote or die!)
So, now that my old clunker has been robbed of it's beautiful shiny blackness, I am totally undecided on what color to paint it next. For those keeping score at home, the car was factory gold when I bought it and it's been painted black more times than I can count
So, as much as I love how the black looks, it was a total PITA and since every bad driver within a 50 mile radius has made it their mission in life to hit this car every time I drive it... The black was just a platform to highlight all the new dings and dents.
I had planned all along to stick with black, but I've had this crazy urge to paint it original 240Z orange lately. Maybe one of you guys with mad photoshop skillz could take my sig pic and change the color to that orange. I was also thinking Le Mans Sunset but it would cost yet again 8 times more than the car is ever going to be worth to go that route and I'm done spending my kids college money on this beasty.
No red.
Already had a blue one and it was just "meh".
Can't imagine green would look very good.
I've seen a couple of yellow ones and... No.
LWW has the white market cornered, and Ice has the silver.
So...
Black again, or orange?
What say you ZDriver peeps?

Orange FTMFW
love orange man. second only to white in my list of general colors that look good on cars. you'll get seen with orange. i had an orange midget, and while it was the smallest car on the road, it also seemed like people would just watch out for it, cause it was so f-ing bright!

This is kind of weird, but the only shade of this color I really like. How about a nice forest green? I have never seen a 280zx that color. Or a Z that color, for that matter. I think that would look pretty sweet man. But it is your call, suggestions help.

Not if I do it first!
I really really really really really like how that orange one above looks!
Holy Guacamole!
I might be sold.

The new Quartz on the Aniversary 370Z is a pretty amazing colour - not really anything like it out there... I'm totaly partial to the Prussian (Monterey) Blue from the 370Z as well. A metalic British Racing green would really suit the era of the car and its fairly uncommon (again). All that said I think a nice red is by far the best colour on any of the S30/S130s.... it was made to be red....

If I go with one of those nifty multi stage modern paints, it's going to cost me an arm or a leg... or both. 240Z orange would be relatively cheap, simple and most of all, it would look really cool!
Between the poll here and the friends I've talked to about it so far, it's looking pretty good for orange. I'll have it prepped and ready to go in a few days but I might take a month or so to make up my mind on the final color. Either way, it's going to have some paint on it by the time MSA rolls around.
I'll tell ya what though, the more I look at that orange one above, the better it looks!

i voted black, your car is one of the few that actually looks good in black. most s130's look like crap in black, must be the wheels, i dunno. even seeing it in person it looked good in black, would be your ride otherwise. nice to see you working on it tho

I like the Silver or smoked gray colour the best but I think black looks good on the ZX's my '82 turbo was painted black from the previous owner from the brown color. Orange? Eh I think that has more to do with what kind of personality the driver has...since i don't know you...black is always safe, easier to paint and you can add some effects to the paint so its not "just" black.

Yeah, but I don't want to spend another gazillion dollars on painting this thing. I've owned it for 6 years, it's spent the last two in the garage... In the four years it saw the road, it made 5 or 6 trips to the body shop / paint booth. It's never going to be a show queen. I gave up on that dream a long time ago. I just want it to look good from a few feet away and maybe turn a few heads.
