What's this?

Thanks to Nismopick for the engine bay picture!

What is this pipe coming off where the j-pipe would be on a non-intercooled setup? I'm trying to find some intake piping with a nipple built on to it so I don't have to get a shop to weld on an adapter. Any suggestions? From the pic it looks like Nismo's was welded on though.

That's part of the stock setup on the stock J-pipe (I cut my j-pipe down & welded a 2.5" straight piece to it.

So... if you have the stock j-pipe, it should have that nipple.

ah, gotcha. I'm redoing the j-pipe with plumbing for my bov, but I couldn't find an intake pipe that would fit with that nipple already on it. Still looking though. If anyone finds anything let me know.

Ah... You are building an IC setup. I must have missed that in your first post.

Are you using aluminum or steel pipes? A lot of those aluminum IC pipe kits on ebay have tons of different bends, and connections for various setups.

yeah I'm looking at the aluminum pipes. Just can't find one with a nipple on it (no matter how many times i say that, it still sounds dirty lol) anyways, is it possible to use the stock portion of the j-pipe (like you did) and use a coupler to couple aluminum piping to it? I was very close to trying that the other day...then it started snowing. Working on Z+snow=freaking cold after a few

the coupler question? yeah you can do that, just use good quality turbo IC couplers not soft silicon crap it expands way to easy and if you got the money use T-bolt clamps not hose clamps for the couplers. and i was never hating haha.
