Hi everybody, I was wondering. Where can you get chrome tape, and such? Because when I looked at my window controllers, it peels off like it is tape. And they are chrome! And if I can get it, I would also like to rechrome my 280zx Turbo emblems. Maybe stick it on, and use an exacto knife around the letters and numbers. And then paint the black parts blue maybe. Not sure quite yet. Anyway if any of you know where I can get some, that would be sweet, and appreciated!

 

My only geuss would be at a hardware store such as homedepot or lowes, and the only tape i can think of at the moment is the kind used for sealing leaks in ac piping in houses,It should serve your purpose if you use it carefully.

Also places like auto parts stores, such as pep boys, advance auto, auto zone. I've used some of that chrome tape before. Not on my Z though...on another car.

 

I noticed on my window swtiches the black was sctatched, So i cleaned all the black off, and they came out in nice crome. I have a great lookin car that look's like it run's. I fool so many ppl. They all think I am stupid for cleaning up a car so well that does not run. I just laught at them and tell them to Fck off. Ppl alway's raggin me about my car. Just wait till she get's a runnin, fly past them on highway with the bird out the window.

 

Right on man, I have been there and done that with cars I fix up. Who cares what people think, and yeah they will be sorry when you get that Z running. Wipe the cheap grin off their face!

 

Some sign/sticker places have large rolls of mirrored "vinyl" (probably an adhesive mylar-like material in actuality).
