No late model cars have the offset our old RWD cars do so you have only a few that literally bolt on.
You can use wheel adaptors to make up about 30 to 40mm of offset then you basically run 4-lug FWD type wheels. You can buy from a large selection of 17x7 or 17x8 wheels with +40 offset. Your lip or dish is reduced this way but you have nice looking modern wheels like Rod's lousy 18's.
OR, do a 5-lug swap then you can choose from the 5-lug +30 offset variety of wheels. You may still need some spacers in back.
Doing a swap to modern wheels is no easy task. It will require some research and understanding of what your car has and what you're looking for. Its nothing like driving a late model car into a tire shop and just picking out some wheels, bolt them on, and go home.
I did 4 to 5 lug wheel adaptors so I'm running FWD type 5-lug wheels. I foun the 5-lug wheels were available in larger width and even more wheel designs. Mine are 18x8 and I foolishly did not buy 18x9 for the rear which were available at the time but are now NLA!
