Wiper Motor Question

Wiper Motor Question
The wipers on my '70Zx have started to go bad (they run for a while, get slow then stop) and even though I'm selling it, I want to fix it anyway.
I have a good wiper motor in my '83, but I was looking and there is a rubber cover over the bolt where the linkage goes onto and motor and I'm not sure how it comes off, but I'd rather not cut it.
Any ideas?

the rubber boot is just sitting on top of the linkage bolt, when you remove the 15/16" nut just work at it a little bit. Its most likly just stuck on. I recently chagned my linkage and after removing the larger nut the rubber washer just came off by hand. \
Although by your question I assume its just the motor that nbeeds replacing...if that is all you are doing then you dont need to take the linkage out as well. Once you have removed the cowl cover, look underneath the opeining by the driver side wiper and the motor/wiper linkage is right there. There is a nut holding the wiper linkage to the wiper motor arm. Remove that nut to get the motor free of the wiper linkage. then all you have left is the motor with its own retaining nuts and bolts.
