Wtf Now A Set Back Need A Immediate Solution

Hell ya I am shouting... OK let me tell ya what is troubling me. Swap is basically done except for one new problem. I have a 1982 280zxt I just removed the JATCO 3N71B automatic. The donor car I am working with is a 1983 280zx n/a 5 speed coupe deluxe model. My 82 turbo car is a GL. You smart guys already know what my bitch is for this post. Not so smart guys pay attention this is information to retain. The propeller shaft is giving me the shaft. neither propeller shaft will work for my jack *** combo.


So the whole time I read that the u joints are not replaceable... So out the window with the obvious easy solution which would be to install the yoke from the five speed propeller shaft to the turbo one. That would fix it and I would be out getting my kicks.

Next would be to install the donor car complete differential which I now think is a dud for my set up. I looked in my fsm and according to it my donor diff has the same gear ratio as what is currently in the turbo car a 3:54 also I assume it is a R 180 currently I have a R 200 with 3:54 gears. a deluxe model manual transmission zx came with a R 180 and a 3:54 ratio. I would love a 3:90 gear but it came in the GL model.


Can I just pull and switch the companion flanges on the diffs r 200 compatible with r 180. Or do I just put the diff out of the donor in the turbo car. I need help to decide a quick fix. Any one have a solution to my problem.


thanks people I feel a major burnout on the horizon I mean I have busted my *** on this and now a another set back?

swap out the diff. the flanges are not interchangable. dont forget to swap out the cv shafts too, they only work on one diff to. and use the driveshaft out of the donor. hope that helps if i read the q properly
