Are Z's top speed limited by weight?

hehehe thanks for converting the speed over!! ahahah. yeah every bushing was shot, the ball joints and tie rod ends were badly worn, plus it was lowered and only the inner edge of a 195/60/r14 was touching. due to that it also could lay rubber thru 4th gear with only a p79 head shave and headers done to it. i ended buying the car and taking it all apart then throwing out the rusted hulk of a body.

The tallest ratio would be to get a 3.36 rear end with a late zx 5 speed. That will give you the theoretically highest potential top speed, although you'll need a bunch of power to get there.
If you want to mess around and see what different things will do for your top speed, (aerodynamics not calculated) go here:

It's also a good way to see how far off your speedometer is too.

apparently if im booking it along the freeway at 200+ kph, even the police helicopters cant keep up. my buddy is a pilot, he was amazed i could go that fast, but saying that, hes never topped 110kph in a car. yeah ive tested my car against the radar signs, seems to be bang on accurate.

your whole "colder air" idea must be a load of guanno!!! lol i guess its dif. in canada... the mounties must have awesome speed guns

sounds like your a little better off than i am.
this can work the other way, depending on the gearing if they are too tall of gears and the car isnt powered very well there will be resistance in trying to move the drive train on top of moving the car across the ground and through the air but you would need really tall gears and a lawn mower engine unless your final gear is unusually long.

From what I've read, S30's seem to "top out" around 125-135 MPH without any aero. I gather that the S130's can (more comfortably) maintain that speed due to the better Cd. "stock for stock"
(ducks head...)
