Anyone out there had to replace their halfshafts? My left one is bad and I ordered the part from Pep Boys but my Haynes manual doesn't say anything except "take it to a shop, too difficult". Any tips? I'll check the archives again too in case I missed it.

Too difficult? Does the thought of getting grease and road grime on your hands and clothes make a chill run up your spine? Do you know the difference between an allen wrench and a crescent wrench? If you had to watch the Olympics, would you rather see figure skating, or rugby?

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. With the right tools and a manual, it's a piece of cake. I've been working on many different cars for years and have found that it is always much better if you go to a car wash and thoroughly degrease and wash the area you are going to be working on. Less road grime, less mess, etc.

I belive it is the tripod type but I'm not 100%. I just found out that Pep Boys never even ordered the shaft that I paid for over 2 wks ago. Their supplier can't even do one unless I ship him my core. So it looks like I gotta pull it and take it to the driveline shop.
