theres 3 wires (1) green/blue (2) green/white stripe (3) yellow ... the service manual shows 1 positive and 2 negative makes it go up ... then it shows 2 positive and 1 negative makes it go down and the yellow wire ? ... I have a red wire thats supposed to be the hot all the time wire and a green wire thats hot when I turn on the radio and a black wire that I'm supposed to ground with a screw ... my logic was the down position was the one that's the off state so do I splice the red wire to the the (2) + wire and the green wire to the (1) - wire and when the radio turns on they switch to 1 + and 2 - and the yellow wire is not used? ... I thought yellow wires were hot wires?

get a volt meter and test the wires.

turn the car off and check each wire for 12V. = hot wire.
then, turn the car and stereo on and check for 12V. = signal wire.
