clear headlight covers
I want to buy the early z31 headlight covers that MSA carries. Only problem is I dont know what they look like up close. Do they have big ugly brackets / do I have to drill holes in the bumper to install them? I searched and found no pics. Does anyone have these on their z31 who is willing to share a pic or two?

History....
Yes, there are brackets. No they are not big, and, no you don't need to drill. Two sided tape attaches the brackets to the bumper cover.
At 85mph, I had to go back and find one of mine...
Sorry, you'll have to click the link. I can't believe the [IMG] code is Off in the "Appearance" forum.

JZB (hey John) is correct .. you don't need to drill .. BUT .. depending on how hot it gets where you live .. drilling may be your best option. It's been known that the dbl sided tape can weaken due to heat (like hot days in CA and AZ). This means the plastic covers can (and have) flown off while the car is in motion.
Note, as I recall .. the dbl sided tape holds the brackets in place. Velcro is used to hold the plastic lense onto the bracket. This facilitates cleaning between the cover and the headlamp .. AND makes it easier to change headlamp/foglamp (for 84-86 models) as the case may be ..

inqui-Z-tor is correct. The two sided tape keeps you from drilling holes, but, if you drive at highway speeds in hot climates, they will take flight.
