well I used the mothers kit and it came with the bar, some showtime spray and some cleaner wax ... the key is the spray as a lubricant ... the bar slides over the surface and it sounds like sandpaper at first until it stops and slides with zero friction and the bar is turning black with gunk that you couldn't see, then you kneed the bar back to clean and repeat ... it even did short work of a ton of bug splatter on my front fascia ... sorry I didn't think to take any before pictures ... but running your hand over the paint is all smooth and it looks better close up.

its always garage kept but here's an after picture pretty clean for 21 years old

Yes it is very good. I use it about once a year. I use Blackfire Poly clay works really great for me. I also after clay barring the car I use Klasse All-in-one polish and sealant. Makes it soooo smooth.

Turbo86, very nice car...I bet that car wasn't that bright red before you used the clay bar. I did a Mitsubishi 3000GT, no clear coat...so it was a faded red...when I was done...it looked as bright as yours.

Where can I buy a set with the polish and claybar, because my paint looks like ***. I wouldn't mind bringing it back to life.

I got mine at wal-mart, also at autozone, o'reilys, pep boys ... ect.

it's called Mothers california gold clay bar kit ... it's a red box with a picture of a big gold bar of clay on the front ... other companies make em too but I've only been able to find the mother's with out much effort ... I know meguires and zaino make some but they are harder to find
