i realllllyyyyyy dont think so, and the i dont think there is an 80 300zx. lol, it was a 280ZX (s130) then in teh mid 80's the 300zx came around (Z31) then in 1990 the second gen 300zx came (Z32) and prior to that in 69-78 the S30's (240Z 260Z 280Z) were around.

you have asked this question a few times. there is no 1980 300zx. they started in 84. the z31 (84-89) hatch windows were the same. the z32 didnt have LOUVERS available for it.

also, this belongs in the z31 forum, not the z32 forum.

moved to z31 Appearance section.

Cronicus, which model Z are you referring to? The louvers on the 240Z-280Z's vary in size. The 280ZX (1979-1983) has a different rear window (with and without wiper clearance), and the Z31 (1984-1989 300ZX) has a different rear window (with and without wiper clearance). So, in addition to the window sizes, the fit for the 280ZX's and Z31's will also depend on whether the louvers can accommodate a rear window wiper for clearance.

lol yall is confusing me lol, i uh or this question was asked twice because yall be moving the thread around rofl, but i foudn it.
anyhow from what i rmember the carb they came of was maroon/red 2 seater and i belive it was tucking the same 2.8
i could swear the tag on the side of the car said 80 300zx
then again im not the best with these cars and they could have mismarked it
it had a rather large back window and then loavers were larger than the window it self.
they measure 42 inches wide by 40 inches tall
and they apear to be pretty low profile i doubt they can acodomiate a wiper, heres a few pics.

300zx never had a 2.8, it had a 3 liter or a 2 liter. Something I've noticed is that the liter size corresponds with the name of the car.

2.4 = 240z
2.6 = 260z
2.8 = 280z & zx
3.0 = 300zx, both models
3.5 = 350z

The 280ZX and the 300ZX also had a 2.0 liter.

As for the louvers, they probably came from a 280Z, since the ZX didn't have them.

If the car had a 2.0 liter motor, it wasn't a 280ZX, nor was it a 300ZX.

correct. the z31 series did include a model with a 2.0l, but it wasnt called a 300zx. that would be the 200zr. as for the s130, i dont know. regardless, no z was ever availlable in the US with a 2.0l.

FYI, correct spelling is "louver". knowing is half the battle .

and you can go to the gallery. there are pics sorted by model. pick the one that looks the closest.

84 and 85 ... 86's changed slightly (very) ... 87+ more changes in body style.

Back in the day (so to speak .. and yes I'm that old) .. 2 companies made the "metal/aluminum" louvres .. Chastain (the one's shown in my pics) and Interpart. Both styles have their respective fans. Neither are available anymore .. that is "brand new" ..

eBay .. once in a while has louvres

2+2
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Alumi...spagenameZWD1V

non-2+2
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Alumi...spagenameZWD1V

From the pics (eBay auction) . they appear closest to Chastain style ..
