Theft System Problems...

Ok... I've poured through the Haynes and all they have about the system is the diagram and a little blurb about what it does. No module locations nothing.

Mine just started going off for no reason. Particularly aggravating when it's 2 in the morning and i have to go out to the %#@! car with the key to reset it.

Is there a way to bypass the system? Is it located under the passenger seat? Can I just unplug the thing till I can find the offending sending unit? my only other option would be to pull the horn off and let it the lights falsh till it resets, at least it will save me trips out to the vehicle.

Thanks

Pulled it... it's sleeping now. Stinks though, every electrical option on the car was working up until this. I'll have to trouble shoot it.

Thanks

I think I might have a solution. There is a sensor in the nose of the car, right by the air filter compartment. Open the mask, and adjust this screw like sensor so that it sticks out more. Sometimes in high winds, the mask gets pulled up enough to offset the sensor causing the alarm to go off.

Yeah, it's actually just a pin switch like those in the door openings. It's attached to the upper crossmember by 2 10mm screws. Right in front of the ac compressor. Most of the time that is the problem.

You could just get an actual aftermarket alarm with an actuator and that would solve all you problems........then youd have a good alarm and you wouldnt have to use your key to get in

Im sure you guys know that the nissan dealership can get you the new door triggers....I cant remember how much they are, but I bet you could get them from courtesy for pretty cheap. The hood pin switch isnt really worth replacing, you could just unplug it
