Z31 dash speakers?
Can anyone tell me specifics about the dash speakers in Z31s? I know only the GLL had them stock, and that they're wired in parallel with the doors. I have a '86 NA GL trim with aftermarket radio. I would like to put a pair of speakers in the dash to help the high-end, especially when driving with tops off.
1) What size speakers go here? Is there an aftermarket application?
2) Is supporting hardware present in the GL model to mount speakers, or will I need to fab?
3) Are required harnesses in place on GL model or will I need to wire it in myself (not a problem at all).
4) Anyone have experience doing this? I know I could go for a pair of pods and save cracking the dash open, but I don't like the appearance of those things too much.
Thanks,
Eric

Hi there,
in a few weeks im bout to put my Boston Pro Splits in my Z31, tho i will be installing the tweeters when i change my dash over as the current dash is split and an i have another one thats i great condition.
As for the loom, you say you have an after market stereo? if this the case, i would look at replacing the door speakers as well if they are not after market, with a new set of splts, that way you get crossovers that will handle the job and it will sound much much better!
