adjustable turbo susp. not working

I bought a 85 300zx turbo 5spd for $1000 LOL you get what you pay for but it runs good and came with new tires. it says it has 240,000 miles and when you turn the adjustable *** for the suspension it doesnt do any thing? any Ideas, I can get a parts car or parts off a car. it also squats real low and dips low when you shift while accelerating fast.

for the money you spend to get the OEM adjustable shocks (if you find them), you can put on a nice aftermarket adjustables setup, ie. tokico. the **** would be rendered useless, but your car would perform much better.

Well when I got the car the console was missing thress screws so maybe the **** was unhooked or something. I am either going to put in shocks from a donor car(if they are good) or just buy after marked, I would never buy OEM they are like 800 each!

Yeah it definatly flashes because i put tokiko illumnas on my 300zx turbo along with suspension technique springs, it's a more rough ride(kind of springy due to the springs i got) but WOW talk about great in the corners

liike he said........ there are actuators on the original eqpt--by the time 240k rolls around, as on mine (86 na slicktop)--those actuators are, DUH!! missing--as on mine. when those are not there, it doesn't mater what kind of adjustables you use. iff they are still there, they ONLY work with stock shox--so they say. oh, well. the actuators are somewhere around the shox towers--i didn't look, but my mechanic assures me -----

As entropy31 has implied .. you won't be able to find OEM adjustable shocks. And if you did .. they'd be 20+ years old .. and unless stored properly .. wouldn't be worth the expense.

1) They are no longer made. Nope can't get 'em NEW at any price.

2) Nissan-Japan destroyed their entire (100%) stock of adjustable shocks years (I don't know what year) ago. The fluids used (sealed chambers) were of the Environmental "bad-boy" list.

i agree with the tokico shocks, i bought tokico springs and 5way adjustable shocks off of ebay for 500$, i like them alot. they were also fairly easy to install, mostly wrenches and sockets needed.
