z32 rear end

Ok guys good news I hope! I found a rolling chasis Z32 twin turbo (well was twin turbo) the body is baked due to being in a fire but the chasis is still good.

I was wondering how much of a pain it would be to put the entire rear end in my 86? I know I can do the front brakes pretty easy and I was thinking if doing so I can just put the Z32 wheels and tires on my car. Not to mention the lsd in the Z32 would be very nice!

Also would this effect what parts I would get for my suspension when I put that in. I am prob doing it all at the same time?

whats wrong with your rear suspension, iv read people putting the r230 in but requires some modding. the amount of time and money why not just fork over and get a quaife

once again you always have the right answear az-bum. That is an amazing forum. I just got introduced to it the other day by a guy in my shop that has a z31.

O by the way there is no way I am dropping 2k for a diff I would keep the open if that was the only option! Or I had nothing better to waist my money on!

If you are dying for LSD... look for an 87-89 Z31T CLSD diff.

That would be great you know where I can find one? and not have to drop 1k on it? What are the 87-89 lsds capable of holding anyway? No matter what I know it is going to cost a little bit of money to this. I just want to make sure that what ever I do doesn't brake and runs great!

the R200's from our cars are pretty damn strong i dont think you have anything to worry about. also you find that LSD rear end from a 87-89 Z31 look in junkyards. or if you fing one on like hybridz.org then expect to pay about 500 dollars lol. people know what people will pay for them since they are pretty hard to find

An LSD can be had for cheap if you are able to visit the junkyards yourself. Most don't realize the LSD came in the cars that it did and don't charge a different amount for the LSD over a normal open diff.

I know the R200 came in those years but in Virgina beach its hard to come by anything for the car. I have not been able to check back home due to the fact of only being home on the weekends.

So like I said before unless someone can find me one that doesn't cost 800 to 1k I think I would be pretty good picking up the entire rear end of an s13 with the r230 in it! and only spending 800 bucks. Then I could possilbly go with coilovers on the rear. That wouldn't be bad now would it.

In 87, only the cars built 4/87 and later had the CLSD. Look for the finned aluminum differential cover.

S13s came with R200s. So you're lucky if you find them with an R230.
