"Rear Light" dummy light on dash :(
A few weeks ago the little "Rear Light" dummy light on the dash (the furthest one to the right) kept coming on when I had the lights on at night and I pressed on the brake pedal. It would come and go - but now it stays on all the time, and I found out that the two bulbs in that tail light are burned out (the low filimant only though - the brake light still works). What gives? I didn't find a fuse for the rear tail lights in the fuse box - so I guess the bulbs themselves kinda act like the fuse... or is there some obvious place I should look that could be causing this trouble?
Another question; what is that white box that kind of clips into the rear passenger side tail light with a wiring clip that goes into it at one end? When I shake it it sounds like there is broken matter inside... what the heck is this thing? In a previous life the car was crunched from the rear on that side... somehow I think that is behind this...
will replace one of the bulbs tomorrow and see what happens then...
thanks

the little box fastened to the inside of the pass side rear taillight assembly is the sensor which sends a signal to the dash to let you know of bulbs are out. if any of the lights in the back are out, it is supposed to illuminate so that you know about it. it's sposed to be there.
