1985 Engine Cuts Out

Ok I have a 1985 300zx non-turbo it periodically cuts out on me. It has 250,000 miles on it so I don’t expect it to run perfectly but when its not cutting out it runs pretty strong (I think the engine was rebuilt at one time but I'm not positive). If you have any ideas on what I can check it would be greatly appreciated. Any questions just ask and I'll try to answer them.
Thanks.

Welcome to ZDriver!

What type of "cutting out" do you mean? Like a quick stutter? Loss of power? Motor shuts off completely?

Have you checked all the basics?
-Timing?
-Spark plugs?
-Sensors, wires, connections?
-Is the MAF clean?
-Vacuum leaks?
-Fuel pressure?
-Fuel filter?
-Air filter?
-Fluids?
-Any change in mpg?

etc etc etc...

Tell us what you have checked, and we'll go from there.

I take it you haven't checked anything yet? If not, start on that list I mentioned....

I've check most of them it gets a little under 15 mpg and its all town miles
changed the fuel filter 200 miles ago it was doing it before that so i know its not that
All fluids are good it leaks power steering fluid but that would cause it
Im pretty sure i've fixed all of the vacuum leaks
All sensors are good except the O2 sensor
Timing good
dont know about the spark plugs but all of the wiring looks good
I was think it could be the MAF but i dont know how to check it
it has an after market air intake
where would i find a reading for the fuel pressure

An important sensor not worth replacing?

I say it's time for a tune up.
