'86 Turbo.. Identify these?

Looking over my brothers new car, I noticed these and couldn't figure out what they were. My friend, who has owned a few Z31's didn't know what they were either.

First, this **** with two vac lines coming from it. One coming from what looks to be the crankcase breather hose, and the other drops down towards the turbo, but I couldn't trace it all the way. It looks like a boost controller, but why would it be hooked into the crankcase breather hose?? Whatever it is, it has been on the car for a while. I couldnt make out any kind of identification marks. Here are some pics:

The other piece looks to be a BOV, but it doesn't realy look stock?

One last thing, the car is a 2+2 Turbo, which I didn't think existed? Apparently it does.

Thanks.

Bleeder type MBC

Ball and Spring MBC connects differently.

But that looks like someone improvised a an air Compressor pressure regulator as an MBC.

Discard all that stuff and get a Hallman ES MBC.

With nothing more than a good MBC your otherwise stock turbo Z will feel like a totally different car with a few extra lbs of boost.
Intercooling it will add to the X factor even more.
On hot days it will feel sluggish compared to cool days without an intercooler.

The bottom picture looks to be an adjustable pop off valve. And the 2+2 Turbo was available in Canada.
