86 turbo question.

86 turbo question.
What would be a fair price to pay for an 86 300zx Turbo that has jumped time with a few other minor inconveniances to take of? Body is solid and I have heard it run before the time jumped. Everything else in the car works fine aside from some minor shorts. The care came with pretty much all the fixings that are still there aside from the speakers which were removed.

if it jumped time, the valves are toast. the heads will need to be replaced or repaired, and that is not an easy job (im in the middle of doing that myself, because the timing belt jumped and bent my valves). if yoiu have it done at a shop, it is very costly. also, if it has some shorts, those can be quite the pain in the a$$ as well. tell him youll give him $800 and see what he says. honestly, if it were me, and they wanted more than that, i would walk away. but it would make one hell of a parts car.

Update
Well we went back to look at the car and also had a talk with the owner. It turns out he took the heads to a machine sop to have them inspected and due to the cars dished pistons and low compression the valves were undamaged (thats what the machine guy said). As for the wiring problem, it was a short in the switch that would not allow the parking and rear lights to shut off. Those were the two problems I was most concerned about and he quoted a price of $1500 for the car. Should i get it?
