Re: air condition getting stuck?
I have the same problem with my '84 300ZXT. If your dash controller is working correctly, it's a vacuum hose problem. Try replacing ALL of the vac lines under the hood (e-mail me and I'll send you a link). It also could be vac lines under the dash. Those are one HELLUVA headache, I'm still trying to figure those lines out...Also, check to see that your water **** is working correctly ( it's about the diameter of a quarter, about 2" long, has a vac line comming out of the top and is shielded...close to the battery). Hope this helps.

Re: air condition getting stuck?
Generally it is the vac lines under the hood as they dry out the fastest and get brittle and crack. Specifically check around the vacumn resevoir bottle (next to passenger headlamp), has 3 or 4 hoses connected as well as 2 wires, pull off the hose closests to the headlamp at the bottom, and see if it's pulling any suction through it, if not, trace it back and find the blockage. If it is pulling suction, then check it for cracks around where it plugs into the bottle.
Im also still trying to figure out the vac lines inside the car, as they are probably old too and cracking and losing seal and vacumn.

I don't think vac is really your problem but they prolly need to be replaced if you haven't replaced them. Try this.
