Brakes Cause Idle To Die
Title says it all.
The car starts and accelerates as it usually does, however when I press the brakes the idle dies. It also appears that my brake fluid is disappearing.
I've been led to believe that this may be a bad brake booster/master cylinder.
In my Google searches I haven't been able to return anything that gives me guidance on how to test to see if either have gone bad.
Thanks in advance.

I'd start with the vacuum check valve. Make sure it's actually there & that it's working properly. Click: XenonZ31 Reference

if you know so little about cars you should go to a mechanic. brake failure can be injurious to your health. put in a vacuum gage. have someone step on brake and see if vacuum goes down. is the vacuum hose attached to the plenum on one end and the brake booster on the other? do you see brake fluid on ground under the car. Do you have to stand on the brake pedal to make the car stop?
